Jay Chakravorty is a modern classical composer and multi-instrumentalist, based in London. He writes instrumental music for pianos, analogue/modular synths, and string ensembles. Since releasing his debut album "A Map With No Memory" on Berlin label Unperceived Records, he has been featured as a pick for "Best New Music" on BBC 6 Music, and received regular airplay from 6 Music, BBC Radio 3, BBC Wales, Radio X, and KEXP Seattle, performing live sessions for both Radio X and The Line Of Best Fit. He has been put forward for The Welsh Music Prize and the UK Music Producers Guild awards, and has received support from PRS Foundation, Arts Council England and Help Musicians in order to bring his music to audiences around the country.

He has toured extensively around the UK and Europe, and is currently working on his second album.

Jay is the co-founder of Counter Chamber, a regular night of post-classical music in a club setting in Hoxton, London, which has gained a rapid and growing following. He is also an in-demand media composer, creating music for plays, adverts, shorts, and feature films.
